14 Gauge Slip Roller

Description

2023 update: this unit is on Clearance, and slated for phase-out.  2024 units will have tighter spacing, limited at 10 gauge (.135)

This 14 Gauge Slip Roller has a capacity of:

3”      wide of 1/8” thick        Cold Rolled steel bar / plate

5”  wide of 12 gauge (.105) Cold Rolled steel bar / plate

12”  wide (full width) of 14 gauge (.075 inches) or thinner material

Aluminum, brass, and bronze capacities are about 1.5-2 times wider, depending on specific material properties.  Copper capacities are 2-3 times wider.

• Minimum rolling diameter using 1/16- 1/8″ thick steel: about 4-5 inches
• Minimum rolling diameter using .035 sheet: about 9 inches

>  The hand crank set (sold separately) includes two handles, one for each side. Both sides need to be installed during use. Standard operation is with a hex bolt on which you place a standard 3/4 ratchet, breaker bar, or box-end wrench.

> Slip-rolling is a slow process and usually requires many passes through the rollers, with small, incremental tightening on the adjuster block to achieve a smooth roll. Overloading a slip roller is very easy, however, can shorten the life of the unit. Exercise additional care when rolling hardened or stainless steels as you may damage the surface of the rollers.

> Depending on your material, these rollers may work better when covered in gorilla tape, duct tape, or other grippy materials.

>  To remove a full circle from the rollers, you will need to remove the center roller.  Removal, disassembly, and reassembly are all straightforward. Simply lower the adjuster bolt to release pressure from the system. Then unscrew the two end bolts from the top roller and remove the workpiece.

>One available 12 inch unit has 12 gauge spacing, so tighter radii are achievable——please let us know if you want that one.
