SKU: N/A Category:

Description

This Heavy Duty Slip roller has multiple positions for easier bending of tough, wide, or thick materials.  The upper set of holes is for materials up to 1/4″ thick. The lower set of holes enable bending thicker materials, up to 1” thick.  The wider the spacing of the rollers, the easier it is to create the curve.  The wider the spacing, the larger the resultant radius.

Specifications

  • Roller Diameters: 2.0 inches
  • Mounting Style: Bolt down

>  The hand crank set (sold separately and not recommended) includes two handles, one for each side. Both sides need to be installed during use. Standard operation is with a hex bolt on which you place a standard 7/8 ratchet, breaker bar, or box-end wrench.  Info on the hand-crank video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=honBzJSMN_c&t=36s&ab_channel=Cammeck

> Slip-rolling is a slow process and usually requires 6-12 passes through the rollers, with small, incremental tightening on the adjuster block to achieve a smooth roll. Overloading a slip roller is very easy, however, can shorten the life of the unit. Exercise additional care when rolling hardened or stainless steels as you may damage the surface of the rollers.

> Depending on your material, these rollers may work better when covered in gorilla tape, duct tape, or other grippy materials.

>  To remove a full circle from the rollers, you will need to remove the center roller.  Removal, disassembly, and reassembly are all straightforward. Simply lower the adjuster bolt to release pressure from the system. Then unscrew the two end bolts from the top roller and remove the workpiece.

CAPACITIES:

12″ unit can roll the full width, (12″ wide) of 1/8″ thick (10 ga) steel sheet, 6″ wide of 3/16″ steel sheet, and 3″ wide of 1/4″ steel bar.

24″ unit can roll the full width (24″ wide) of 10 ga steel sheet, 5″ wide of 3/16 steel sheet, and 3″ wide of 1/4 steel bar.

36″ unit can roll the full width (37″ wide) of 12 ga steel sheet, 20″ wide of 10 ga steel sheet, 5″ wide of 3/16 steel sheet, and 3″ wide of 1/4 steel bar.

48″ unit can roll the full width (49″ wide) of 16 ga steel sheet, 20″ wide of 10 ga steel sheet, 5″ wide of 3/16 steel sheet, and 3″ wide of 1/4 steel bar.

These units can create large radius arches in 1 x 1 x .065 steel tubing or 1 x 1 x .125 aluminum tubing. This is why the unit has lower holes, so that the two side rollers can be re-positioned to allow for 1″ thick materials.

Rollers work best if they are close in size to the material you are rolling.  For example, if you are consistently rolling sheet that is 15″ wide, we recommend a 16″ unit, instead of a 24″ unit.

12″ units generally in stock, other sizes may take up to 2-4 weeks to ship. Sales tax included in price.  Shipping is free.

This is the most recent version, from mid 2022, with 6 different positions
